Who we are

Hi, I’m Mike, the hands behind Northern Designs Carpentry. Originally from the Canadian Rockies, I’ve been living in the Northern Rivers for over 8 years. My early 20s were spent landscaping and doing stonework, and in my later 20s, I transitioned into carpentry. I’m fully qualified in both fields and passionate about them.

I love working with clients on creative ideas and bringing their projects to life. I place a strong emphasis on repurposing materials — doors, windows, timber — to keep costs down and reduce waste. I believe this approach is not only sustainable but also creates a timeless aesthetic.

I hope to continue building a life here in the Shire and creating projects for people to enjoy for years to come.
